Shut Up And Do What You’re Told

What are you doing that is driven by faith?

God spoke something clearly to my husband to do something for a kid in our community. We talked about the illogical-ness of it. We rationalized against it. We came to a conclusion…

We need to stop arguing with God. Just like I hate when my kids argue or question me when I ask them to do something for me, I’m sure I am no exception to that rule when it comes to my heavenly Father. But we did, like two little kids who don’t want to sacrifice playing outside to clean our rooms, we plead our case, threw a small fit, and then submitted.

We are called, above all else, to obedience. We are to listen, and then obey. What we normally do is tell God what we want to do, or how we want things to happen and then in our own strength, figure out how to accomplish it, inviting God to be a part of it or to, better yet, bless it. This is not living by true faith.

So today, my husband and I are going to shut up and do what we are told….are you?
